This week Roque and Luke sample a spicy little number from the Canary Island Tenerife and the mouthful DO Ycoden-Daute-Isora. They get stuck into a bottle of Listán Negro red from Bodegas Viñátigo. As well as island life they also dive into a chat that sounds like a sci fi movie: clones, crosses and hybrids.
HAPPY NEW YEAR! This week Roque and Luke return again to those sun-dappled volcanic islands of the Canaries. They sample a bottle from DO Tacoronte-Acentejo in the northeast part of the island. Viña Norte by Bodegas Insulares. They toast 2018 and chat top 5 wine choices!
This week Roque and Luke head to the most westerly point of Spain and the most westerly of the Canary Islands to try a bottle of DO El Hierro. This interesting wine, made by Viña Frontera, came full of grapes the likes of which the podcast had never seen. Discussion topic this week? How to fake it at a wine party!
This week sees Roque and Luke flying back to the Canary Islands, and back to old volcanic Tenerife. But, this time, to the south side and a bottle of mysterious wine called Chasnero from DO Abona. They talk volcanic soil and artwork and descend briefly into utter madness.
Thanks to Dave Watkins for providing the wine!
